Based on her research of the Palestinian music scene, Christina Hazboun will converse with long-term collaborator and sonic inspirator Knut Jonas-Sellevold to guide us through an interactive listening session of Palestinian music. They will delve into stories and histories surrounding spaces and temporalities related to music and performance, struggle, and resistance within Palestine.
Christina Hazboun’s work spans text, radio, field recordings, spaces, and events, focusing on her native Palestine and the SWANA region. Her texts and radio work appear scattered across the digital sphere; her piece “Sonic Strategies in The Palestinian Struggle” appears on “Bodies of Sound: Becoming A Feminist Ear,” and you can catch her eclectic radio show “Musical Musings” on Stegi Radio.
DJ Karina Sletten will play records after the event until close.
The Vers Libre Salon series is kindly supported by Bergen Kommune and Vestland fylkeskommune.
